Christmas Tree Lighting and Flotilla

Kick off the joyous holiday season with a wonderful annual event in Historic Downtown Edenton to include Tree Lighting at 5:30 pm and a wonderful Flotilla of boats along the Harbor at 6 pm. Local Children's Choirs perform with musical delights as everyone awaits that very, very special visit from that Jolly Old Man, Himself - Santa!

James Iredell House Christmas Groaning Board

On December 8 & 9, 2017, from 1-5pm, Historic Edenton State Historic Site will be hosting the James Iredell Groaning Board with help from the Edenton Tea Party DAR and the James Iredell Association. There will be so many cookies that the table will "groan" under the weight!

This event is without charge and open to the public. 105 E. Church Street.

Christmas Open Studio Weekend

Local Edenton Potter, Frank Miglorie, will open his studio to the public on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The studio is located on 1222 Sound Shore Drive, Edenton, NC. Frank will be working throughout the day demonstrating the various aspects of the art of pottery.

With Christmas around the corner, the studio is filled with new pottery featuring several new glazes and designs that Frank has developed since living in North Carolina. During your visit you will be able to see how he has integrated into his work elements from nature that are so much a part of the landscape in the coastal area of North Carolina.

Santa will be taking Christmas wishes and will pose for photos on December 8-9, from 4-7pm AND December 16-17, from 4-7pm before he returns to the North Pole to pack his sleigh for Christmas.

Author Karen Gilbert of Rufus T. Rouse

Rufus T. Rouse is an Extraordinarily brave mouse from the land of Scotland. Karen is a North Carolina Author who was encouraged by her family and pastor as she began her writing of the first tale in her Christian Children's series.

Illustrator, Hope Swinney will also be with Karen for this wonderful event including SANTA in the gallery.
