Friday & Saturday, June 3-4, 2016

18th Annual Edenton Music and Water Festival

Friday evening will begin with a Guided Sunset Paddle 6:30 - 7:00 pm launching time from Queen Anne Park. There are kayaks and canoes available from the Town Dock by advance reservation along with bringing your own for participation. New this year, Spare Change Band from Greenville will entertain from 7 - 10 pm for listening and dancing under the stars and a Beverage Garden all at the foot of South Broad along the water.

Saturday, this festival promises to delight with Coast Guard participation, entertainment beyond compare both on the waterfront stage and along Broad with roving musicians as well as many more activities for children off and on the water. The Edenton Masonic Lodge will host a Regional Car Show with all years represented along South Broad Street.

Free Boat Rides, Free Paddling Demos with the Eastern 4-H Center, Food and Beverage Vendors/Arts and Crafts Vendors/Educational Vendors, expanded Kids Area with Games and Crafts and Joy the Clown will all be on site for all to ENJOY!

Kitty Hawk Kites will be sponsoring the Kayak and Stand-Up-Paddle Clinics beginning at 10:30 am and registration at 10 am.

NEW THIS YEAR: Edenton Music and Water Festival Dance and Beverage Garden 7 - 10 pm on South Broad Harbor on Friday evening. On Saturday, the USAF Heritage of America Band The Blue Aces will close out the festival from 5 - 7 pm and if inclement weather will perform in Swain Auditorium at 200 E Church Street.

Heritage Farm Fest

Whether you grew up on a farm or have just wondered what it was like to grow up on one, you won't want to miss this year's Heritage Farm Fest. Step back in time as you wander through the Heritage Village. Watch as skilled artisans perform the trades of a bygone era. Learn about Blacksmithing, shingle making and notorious moonshiners. Sample wonderful heritage foods - many made by our Farmers Market Vendors. Witness teams of mighty draft horses move effortlessly by the hands and voices of their driver's. Go back to simpler times as you see and hear the antique tractors and equipment in action. The day will be filled with old-fashioned, family friendly fun.

Harry Rosenblatt Memorial Speakers' Series

The Speakers' Series will take place the 2nd Monday of each month except in December. The speaker for February will be available soon.

Speaker Buzz Griffin, beekeeper "Bees and Beekeeping". At this lecture different honeys will be available for tasing.

"Music by the Bay at the Penelope Barker House"

Beginning in May, the Barker House Lawn alongside picturesque Edenton Bay will be the setting for monthly music concerts every 3rd Sunday afternoon from May through October. The musical groups will perform a variety of music: Jazz, Gospel, Americana, Blues, Bluegrass and Classic Rock and Roll. Student groups from area schools will also be invited to perform.

June 19: A Father's Day Jazz Session - come Play along

These events are FREE to attend so "bring your own chairs and picnics", first-come to get a spot on the lawn, so come early and make a day of it.
