Woman's History Month
Guided Tours sharing the history of Edenton with a special emphasis on the women who lived and impacted the town and beyond! Hear the stories of the group of Edenton ladies that boycotted the taxes on tea and got England's notice, the story of Harriet Jacobs who escaped the bonds of slavery and fought to free others from the same fate, or the many other stories of the women of Edenton. Tour includes entry to the James Iredell House, St. Paul's Church, Cupola House, Barker House, and 1767 Chowan County Courthouse.

Edenton Cotton Mill Village Model
The Edenton Cotton Mill Village Model created by Carolina Piedmont Division of the National Railroad Association is featured at Historic Edenton State Historic Site, Visitor Center until April 2017.
This amazing model has been constructed mostly of donated materials by volunteers and Edenton is so pleased to welcome it home. The model has been donated to the Edenton Cotton Mill Museum of History and is very excited to share with the public through such displays. The Edenton Cotton Mill Village is interpreted during the Trolley Tours. Additional interpretation on the historic Mill and Village will be made available while the model is exhibited at the Visitor Center.

Just Arrived! Julia Townsend at the Chowan Arts Council
Long time summer visitor to Edenton, Julia Townsend returns to the US after 19 years of living in Istanbul, Turkey and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Now a year-round Edenton resident as of 2017 and is teach at the College of the Albemarle.
This exhibition features several large works (over 6 feet), including an aluminum oil-painted relief construction that was commissioned by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority for the SIKKA art fair in March 2016.
This amazing exhibit will open on March 2nd with a reception from 5:30 - 7 pm and run through March 31st in the Gallery which is open daily from 11 am - 4 pm

"Find Your Network to Freedom Site Passport"
The United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service has provided the "Passport" stamp as part of the "Find Your Network to Freedom Site Passport" program. The Network to Freedom (NTF) website includes a list of the NTF locations, including the 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse where visitors can get their NTF "Passport" brochure stamped.
The Edenton waterfront has been designated by the National Park Service as a "Network to Freedom" Site as part of the historic Maritime Underground Railroad network for freedom slaves. This celebration will be throughout 2017 and the cancellation stamp is located at the 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse. Harriet Jacob's escape will be shared
