Broad Street
The Barker House, circa 1782

The Barker-Moore house was originally built in 1782 for Thomas and Penelope Barker.  It was divided into two apartments in 1926.  In 1952, Haywood Phthisic bought the house and promised to donate it to any organization that would renovate and move it.  It was then relocated to the waterfront, where it served as the Historic Edenton Visitor's Center until 1992.
