409 Court Street
The Julian Wood House, circa 1890

This Victorian style house was built around 1890 for Julien Wood.  It is speculated that the house was built for his marriage to Elizabeth Benbury Badham on December 17, 1890.

Julien Wood was a wealthy farmer, and the first president of the Bank of Edenton.  After the deaths of both Julien and Elizabeth, the house was purchased by Ernest and Myrtle Leary, who stayed here until their deaths.
