The Baumgarder-Barrow House, circa 1905

     This T-plan house was built in 1905 for Marie Brinkley Baumgardner.  In 1914 Marie moved to Raleigh and sold the house.  Between 1920 and 1930, it was under the ownership of J.A. and Dora Reese Owen.  In 1942, Theophilous and Lula Barrow bought the property.  They remained in the house until their deaths, and the home remains in family ownership today.  

     "Thea" was the owner of Barrow Bottling Company at 212 East Eden Street.
