Celebrate Woman's and Black History Months

The Historic Edenton State Historic Site will feature Harriet Jacobs' Tours during the month of February and March in celebration of Woman's and Black History Months. The tours will leave the Visitor Center at 108 N Broad Street at 3 pm each Friday and Saturday. The cost for the guided tour is $2.50.

Traveling Exhibit - James Monroe's 1819 Presidential Tour

Just in time for the 200th Anniversary Presidential Ball for James Monroe at the Courthouse! Prepared by the museum studies students at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, the exhibit commemorates the bicentennial of President Monroe's southern tour, highlighting his visits from Virginia south to North Carolina (Edenton's 1767 Chowan County Courthouse), South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama, and west to Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana. This exhibit will be located in the Historic Edenton Visitor's Center at 108 N. Broad Street in Edenton, opened March 15– April 26, 9am-5pm Tue-Sat and is sponsored by the Friends of the Shepard-Pruden Memorial Library.

The Edenton Farmers Market (a 501C3 nonprofit) is held rain or shine every Saturday, 9am-noon.  Follow them on Facebook.  Locally grown products.
Come shop our market in our newly renovated building in downtown Historic Edenton at 200 North Broad St. This permanent location will help us further our mission to bring the Chowan County area healthier food choices while supporting local farmers
