9th Annual Edenton-Chowan Kiwanis 5K Race/Walk

Historic Edenton with its 18th Century Historic Buildings, Tree Lined Streets and Friendly Faces becomes the footprint for this year's event. Register at RunTheEast.com prior to the event.

The day of the event, registration takes place at the Historic Edenton State Historic Site, 108 North Broad Street.

The race is the primary funder for multiple yearly $1,000 scholarships for Holmes seniors as well as literacy and character enhancement programs at Chowan Elementary and middle schools. Detailed information and on-line registration at runtheeast.com.

Discount registration for Educators and First Responders Race day registration begins at 7:30 am at the Edenton State Historic site on North Broad Street, Paul Metzger is the contact.

National Tourism Day - Tour In Your Own Backyard

Celebrate National Tourism Day in Edenton with free tours on-and-off the water.   The guided Trolley Tours will leave The Penelope Barker House Welcome Center at 505 S Broad Street at 10:30, 11:30 am, 1:30 and 2:30 pm.  The Historic Building Tours will be available from 10 am - 4 pm through Historic Edenton State Historic Site Visitor Center, 108 N Broad Street - the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse, the 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse, the James Iredell House and the 1758 Cupola House. The Town of Edenton Harbor Office in Colonial Park will also make their Kayaks and Stand-up Paddles available for all to experience our waterways on that day.  Refreshments will be found at the Penelope Barker House Welcome Center, Historic Edenton Visitor Center and the Edenton-Chowan Chamber and Chowan County Tourism Office, 101 W Water Street.

21st Annual Edenton Music and Water Festival

Friday evening will begin with a Guided Sunset Paddle 6:30 - 7:00 pm launching time from Queen Anne Park. There are kayaks and canoes available from the Town Dock by advance reservation (with small deposit returned upon arrival) along with bringing your own for participation. Refreshments served on the water following the paddle while watching the sunset.

Saturday, the Wooden Boat Exhibit with handmade boats made by many of our local artisans, entertainment beyond compare both on the waterfront stage and along Broad with roving musicians as well as many more activities for children off and on the water.

Double Trouble

RC Lasers and Star 45s will serve as the North American Championship for the RC Laser Class and will also be the Regional Championship for the Star 45 class.

AMYA membership is required for the Star portion but not for the RC Laser portion - the only requirement is an RC Laser.

The Edenton Farmers Market (a 501C3 nonprofit) is held rain or shine every Saturday, 9am-noon.   Locally grown products.
Come shop our market in our newly renovated building in downtown Historic Edenton at 200 North Broad St. This permanent location will help us further our mission to bring the Chowan County area healthier food choices while supporting local farmers.  Wednesdays spring, summer and fall from 3 - 6 pm.
