Gov McCrory and “Gov Eden” Come to Town

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory came to town on Saturday, May 18, 2013, to celebrate Edenton’s 300th Anniversary. The public festivities began with the arrival of “Governor Charles Eden” aboard the “Silver Chalice.” “Gov Eden” and Gov McCrory met at the waterfront, boarded horse-drawn carriages, and made their way to the 1767 Courthouse Green where they shared in the Celebration. Participating in the Celebration were descendants of the Meherrin Tribe native to the Chowan River area.
